Treasure Time update following his victory at York

Treasure Time, the three-year-old gelding I have a handful of shares in with RaceShare, posted the second victory of his eight-race career at York on Friday 23rd August 2024 winning the Sky Bet Mile Handicap. Under a great ride from Tom Marquand he powered home late to get up in the final yards and it has to be said not looking like stopping! He won off an official mark of 87 and he will no doubt be pushed up into the 90's by the handicapper on Tuesday it is just a case of how far into the 90's...... As I have mentioned before a couple of his half-siblings have been rated in the 100's in their career, Equality as high as 110 (entered in the G.1 Flying Five Stakes next month), Badri up to 104 plus Outgate, who was sold to Hong Kong in 2023, is now up to 91 after recent wins at Sha Tin and Happy Valley. There is every reason to believe there is more to come from Treasure Time yet. Timeform have him on a new rating of 106 apparently.

William Haggas and the team at Somerville Lodge reported on Saturday morning "The vets have trotted him up and he is sound, and he had a good appetite this morning, licking his bowl clean." Where next is the big question and there are couple of options under consideration. Though he has suggested he may get further William Haggas is keen to stay over eight-furlongs at the moment so the main options for him look to be Ascot on Friday, September 6th (8f, 86-105 handicap for three-year-olds and upwards) and St Leger Day at Doncaster on Saturday, September 14th (8f, 0-110 handicap for three-year-olds and upwards). There is also talk, in hushed tones, of  possibly the Balmoral Handicap on Champions Day and Royal Ascot next year................

When I first bought shares in Treasure Time as an unraced two-year-old last year if you had told me then he'd be winning at Newmarket and then a £100,000 Handicap at York (£51,540 to the winner) I would have suggested you give your head a wobble. So far it has been great fun and for not a great deal of money. If you've ever thought of joining a syndicate I can't praise RaceShare enough and would wholeheartedly recommend you look at their website and horses on offer. Onwards and upwards we go.

Update Tuesday 27th August 2024

Treasure Time has been allocated a new Official Rating of 94 which was to be expected after his victory at York; a rise of 7lb.
