Treasure Time update 20th June 2024

I mentioned at the start of the week that the three-year-old I have a handful of shares in with the Raceshare group, Treasure Time, was entered at Newmarket on Friday and the gelding has been declared (also entered at Newbury next week).

He goes in the 7f Racing TV Handicap and is drawn in stall six of ten. Unlucky in running when fifth at Chester last week where he was short of room more than once the testing straight seven at HQ will hopefully prove an ideal trip and there should be far less chance of hard luck stories. Fourth over six-furlongs at Newcastle on his three-year-old seasonal debut last month, he simply didn’t have the change of gear to live with the out and out sprinters there, a big run is hoped for. William Haggas and the team at Somerville Lodge report him to be in good shape at home, having seemingly come out of his Chester exertions without a bother and Cieren Fallon rides again. I have said before I think his mark of 77 is workable, all four of his half-siblings are winners, all rated 80+ in their careers with two over 100; Badri a high of 104 and Equality as high as 110. Most of the opposition are fairly exposed types for three-year-olds and Treasure Time should have more to offer yet as all his half-siblings improved with racing and you’d expect improvement from the son of Time Test after just four starts. All being well he can gain that all important first victory and it's onwards and upwards after that into some big money handicaps.

Be lucky
