The horse racing week ahead

I am on one of those runs over the last week or so, just can't seem to get a winner; with my luck at moment, if I fell into a barrel of boobs I'd come up sucking my own thumb!!!

The weather will no doubt have an affect on the horse racing this week, plenty of non-runners over the weekend, and Leicester is abandoned on Monday. Nothing much jumps off the page at me from the entries for Monday or Tuesday so it will be a quiet start to the week but things get a lot more interesting as the week goes on.

The three-day Cambridgeshire meeting at Newmarket gets underway on Thursday with plenty of Pattern class action to look forward to. On Saturday they host the G.1 Cheveley Park Stakes for the fillies and the G.1 Middle Park Stakes for the colts at HQ with, as you'd expect, a number of very good two-year-olds entered. At this stage of the week the Irish raiders head the market but who knows which if them will actually travel across the Irish Sea. Over in Ireland their main race on Saturday is also for the juveniles the G.2 mile Beresford Stakes in which Aidan O'Brien has a ridiculous amount of entries including Henri Matisse and Acapulco Bay as he looks to win the race for the 22nd time!

On Sunday The Irish Cesarewitch, which is now worth a sizeable €600,000, is the race of the day at the Curragh where they also host two Group 3's on the card with the Renaissance Stakes and Weld Park Stakes.
